We’ll meet at the Milliken Athletic Complex and then travel together in our van to various Northern Colorado locations. Bring comfortable hiking boots and hiking poles for extra stability, if needed. Macrame for Beginners (ages 12+)
Learn new Macrame knots and techniques to create a medium-size Macrame plant hanger. All in a creative and fun atmosphere! All supplies are included in the workshop; wooden rings and 100% cotton macrame cord are used. *Pot for plant not included
Pottery – Wheel Throwing (ages 12+)
Join The Cottage Artisan for Pottery – Wheel Throwing. This beginners wheel throwing class is for students who have never used the potter’s wheel, as well as students who are still developing their throwing skills. Participants will learn how to prep clay for wheel throwing as well as how to center, pull and push the clay on the wheel.
Paint Your Own Pottery (ages 5+)
Join us for Paint Your Own Pottery. This one-day class gives participants the opportunity to explore ceramics in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, focused on glaze painting pre-made ceramic pieces. Whether you would like to create a unique piece for yourself, a personalized gift for someone else, or just have fun, this class will provide the opportunity to get creative!
Youth Intro to Jiu Jitsu
Learn basic fundamental skills for competitive and self defense grappling/ Jiu Jitsu. Classes include technique drills, games, and training, where our instructor will discuss the life lessons of martial arts. Participants are required to provide their own Gi and belt. All classes are held at the Milliken Athletic Complex. Participants must register monthly.

Intermediate/Advanced Jiu Jitsu
Once the participant knows all basic and fundamental positioning and concepts from our Intro class, they will be moved to this class to continue to expand their knowledge and understanding of the sport and self defense aspects of Jiu jitsu. Classes include technique drills, games, and training, where our instructor will discuss the life lessons of martial arts. Participants are required to provide their own Gi and belt. Fencing
Discover the sport of Fencing! This program teaches beginning skills, technique, and drills that are used in foil fencing. Learning fencing teaches healthy competition, respect and self-discipline and requires aerobic endurance and flexibility. We will work on increasing all over the course of the six week session with an in-house competition to complete each six-week session.
Equipment is available for a rental fee of $35 per six-week session

Equipment may be available for rental, depending on demand.
Youth Dance Classes
Recommended clothing is comfortable, form-fitting clothing to allow full movement expression. Hair should be pulled back, out of the face.
Youth Dance (Kindergarten-1st Grade)
This is an introduction to jazz, ballet, and acro stylings for new, young dancers. A performance is held at the end of each dance session for dancers to showcase what they learned with Miss Annamae!
Jazz and Ballet Combo (2nd-6th Grade)
Ballet is a classical form of dance that emphasizes on fluid and graceful movements. Jazz is a mixture of ballet and modern dance technique. Jazz can allow kids to learn a new type of dance while also learning to express themselves through dance. A mixture of the both will allow for a fun time for kids to learn new things like leaps, turns, and to learn a combo at the end as well!
Youth Cheer (ages 5-8)
Participants learn cheerleading while gaining individual dedication and teamwork experience. Motions will include tumbling, jumps, dance moves and stunting. Each season ends with a cheer performance for family and friends!
Classes held at the Johnstown Activity Center, 10 S Parish Avenue
Hunter Education Certification cards will be awarded to students upon successful completion of the entire course.
Students must attend both class sessions, pass the written test and attend the live fire exercise to receive their certificate. All of this will be done within the two class days.
Please bring a sack lunch, a water bottle, and a pen/paper; CPW will provide all other education materials.
There is no minimum age requirement to enroll in a hunter education course in Colorado, but students 10 or older are more likely to be successful. Students must be mature enough to understand the information presented, pass the written test and safely participate in the live fire.
*Anyone under the age of 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Youngsters on the Move – Back on Thursday, September 7!
Welcome to Youngsters on the Move! This is an unstructured open gym for youngsters to explore, play and do the activities they want, as well as time for parents/caregivers and children to play together! Cost is free. We look forward to seeing you!
